Centerville, Utah — Our sweet mother, Dixie Pearl Dansie Jensen, passed away at home in the early hours of September 29, 2018.
She was born May 2, 1929 in Salt Lake City, UT to Julian and Ruby Dansie. After her mother's death, when she was eight years old, she was given the gift of another mother, Lyona, who helped raise her.
Dixie loved people. She was sweet and kind to everyone. Her favorite hobbies included family, friends, and decorating. Dixie's pride and joy were her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved family gatherings while eating homemade ice cream, family reunions at Bear Lake, and friend groups.
Dixie and Dave lived in their beautiful Centerville home for 57 years.

Death*24 December 2018 David Leon Jensen died on 24 December 2018 at Bountiful, Davis County, Utah, at age 90.6
oObit*  Our wonderful father, David Leon Jensen, age 90, passed away at Bountiful, Utah's Creekside Assisted Living in the early hours of Monday, 24 December 2018. As his memory faded, Dave continued to bring smiles and laughter to all who cared for him.
Dave was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on 13 September 1928 to Carl Theodore and Adriana (Millecam) Jensen. Following his 6 June 1946 graduation from South High School, Dave attended the University of Utah, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in December 1950.
From November 1953 - June 1956, Dave served as a missionary in the Netherlands Mission. Upon his return, he met Dixie--the girl who would become his wife--at an ice-skating party, organized by the Sacra Dulsa singing group to which they both belonged. After eight months of courtship, the couple was married in the Salt Lake Temple on 26 August 1957. Their union was blessed with the addition of four children, Richard, Brad, Julianne, and Jill.
Dave enjoyed playing tennis, going snow skiing (into his seventies), boating with family, swimming, reading--especially about history, listening to beautiful music, playing the harmonica, going backpacking, camping, attending musicals, taking trips to Bear Lake, and working in his beautiful yard.
Once he retired, Dave and Dixie served as missionaries in the California Oakland Temple Visitors' Center. There, they made lifelong friendships. Dave also served, faithfully, throughout his life in various church callings, including High Councilor, Bishop, Primary teacher, Home Teacher, and in bishoprics.
Dave was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dixie, in September 2018; his parents; brothers, Frank Jensen and Marv Jensen; and his Granddaughter, Ava Claire Bender.
Dave is survived by his four children, Richard (Roslyn) Jensen, Brad (Susan) Jensen, Julianne Brady, Jill (Ron) Mortensen; 22 grandchildren, and 37 great grandchildren.
The Jensen family sends special "thanks" to all those at Creekside Senior Living Facility and the ComfortWorx Hospice team; Dave's wonderful nurse, Carol, and aide, Joe.
