John Clark McFarlane Jr1

M, #2371, b. 10 May 1967, d. 25 November 2015
Father*John Clark McFarlane1
Mother*Betty Binder1
Birth*10 May 1967 John Clark McFarlane Jr was born on 10 May 1967 at Fort Eustis, Newport News, Virginia.1,2
Baptism29 May 1967 He was baptized on 29 May 1967 at Fort Eustis, Newport News, Virginia.1
Death*25 November 2015 He died on 25 November 2015 at St. Louis County, Missouri, at age 48.3
oObit*  John passed on Nov. 25, 2015. He was born on May 10, 1967, at Fort Eustis, Virginia. Two months later his dad was sent to Vietnam for 13 months. Betty moved them back to California, her home state.
He was a delightful, sweet baby and Betty always said that he was her "buddy" who kept her spirits up during those worrisome days. John was an "Army brat" and had the opportunity to live in seven states and two countries before his dad's retirement to Yucca Valley.
While in Germany he loved playing soccer and being involved in Boy Scouts. In 1976, his scout troop, in colonial costume, participated in one of the biggest overseas celebrations for Americas 200th birthday.
He attended grades 6 through 12 at Yucca Valley schools where he was very active in band, loved the drums and played JV and varsity football and basketball with his "brother" John Zerblis (Martha) in a true bond of friendship and brotherhood.
After graduation from Yucca Valley High School, he was accepted at Principia College (Alton, Illinois), where he had the opportunity to travel to Puerto Rico, Jamaica and China while studying environmental sciences. This is where he met his true love and best friend, Francie Bell.
On summer breaks from college he worked as a lifeguard at the YVHS swimming pool. He also loved working backstage when his sister Marian performed at the Joshua Tree summer performances. Marian entered Principia two years after him and while there they delighted in being DJs together on the college radio station as John Clark and Marian Elizabeth. They had a great deal of fun by not disclosing they were brother and sister until shortly before John's graduation. After completing his studies John worked for a short time at a large advertising firm in Chicago, but his true love Francie was in Orlando, so he moved there and began his 25 years of employment with Disney World. Needless to say, John and Francie married shortly after. His last position at Disney was as an entertainment manager at the Hollywood Studios and at the Animal Kingdom. In June 2015, seeking a career that allowed him more time with Francie and Clark, they moved to St. Louis as he accepted a job as the "House Pop" to 19 or more high school boys who lived in the dorm at Principia Upper School.
But John's big loving heart gave out and he passed away suddenly on November 25, 2015.4
