They left Liverpool, England on 6 May 1862 in the sailing ship "City of Manchester". After a long voyage on the ship, they reached the US and made their way west arriving in Florence, Nebraska on 7 July, where they remained several weeks; then the company was organized to cross the plains with ox teams and wagons with Captain Israel A. Canfield in charge. They departed for the promised land on 30 Jul1862 and arrived in Deseret (Salt Lake City) on 17 October 1862.1,5 |
