A native of Butte, she was 39. She was the daughter of Mrs. Edith N. Ham of Millbrae and the late Frederick A. Ham. The family home in Millbrae is at 1247 Gilcrest Blvd. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Highlands, El Camino Real at Millwood Drive in Millbrae, with interment in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Besides her husband, there are two children, Patricia Lee and Michael Drew Chapman, and a sister Mrs. Mildred Drew Bateman, all of Millbrae. Mrs. Chapman was a member of Presidio Chapter No. 481, Order of Eastern Star, the registered nurses association of California, and of "The Clipped Wings Club."23 |

From Pennsylvania she moved to Burlington in Montana in 1888 with her family. She lived there until 1910, when she moved to Missoula, where she has lived since. In 1892 she was married to Jabez Doney in Butte. He died Jan 31, 1921. She was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Community Covenant Church. She is survived by five sons, Angus and Melvin Doney, Missoula; Fred, Arlee; George, Polson; and Robert, Anaconda; three daughters, Mrs William Phelps and Mrs Ethel Curry, both of Arlee, and Mrs Howard Kleinschmidt, San Bernadino, Calif; one sister, Mrs Arthur Steen, Missoula; two brothers, Edgar and Arthur York; both of Missoula; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the Marsh, Powell & Livingston Chapel at 23 pm Monday. The Rev Richard Bennett will officiate and burial will be in Missoula Cemetery.9 |
