He was a member of the Glines 1st Ward. He enjoyed and loved raising livestock and farming. He was the Water Master on the Upper canal for many Survivors include his wife of Vernal; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Stacy (Mae) Thomas, Mrs. Mamie Wellman both of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Merell Oaks of Vernal, Victor Nelson of Orem and Harden Nelson Sr. of Vernal. Funeral services were Monday at 11 a.m. in the Glines Ward Chapel. Bishop Bill Workman conducted the service.
Gary Anderson gave the family prayer. Frank Johnson gave the invocation. Following remarks by Bishop Workman, Judy Anderson, Monty Lange, Jan Ercanbrack sang "Peace I Leave With You." President Rex Smuin spoke. Clayton Curtis, Verl Mumford, Kristen Wilson and Chad Orton sang "Abide With Me." Weldon Hall gave the benediction. Prelude and postlude music was by DeAnna Johnson.
Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park. Lee Workman dedicated the grave. Pallbearers were Harden Nelson Tom Herbert, Wayne Nelson, Lewis Swett, Gary Anderson, and Tom Aldridge. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Thomson's Vernal Mortuary.8

Cecil was a life-long rancher and stockman. He worked 10 years as a foreman at the Gilsonite mine in Bonanza. He had a great gift with horses and loved a good horse. He loved to be on the mountains, with his family, working, hunting, fishing, or hunting arrowheads. In his spare time he liked to carve and make halters.
Cecil is survived by nine children, Gwena Lee (Neldon) Slaugh, Kent Jay (Nita) Boren, Vernal, Lonnie Kay (La-na) Boren, LaRae (Dean) Bristol, Neo-la, Johnnie Leonard (Debbie) Boren, Jim (RaKel) Boren, Vernal, Mike (Ra-nae) Boren, Kearns, Ellen (Wayne) Watkins, Vernal, Cecil Lee (Elaine) Boren Jr., Neola; daughter-in-law, Joyce Boren, LaPoint; 40 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and two sisters, LaVonne Robbins, Oral Fenn, both Roosevelt. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Dale Boren; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and four brothers, Earl, James Ivan, Arthur Marcus, Duane Boren.
