Bennie was born on May 16, 1936, in Santa Barbara to Ysidro Esparza and Teresa (Urzua) Esparza. He grew up on Matthews Street in Goleta, surrounded by a large, loving and full-of-life family. He spent his youth working with his Dad and brothers, and having fun at Goleta Beach. Bennie attended Goleta Union School, and later Santa Barbara High School.
Bennie's career was full, accomplished and an integral part of his life. He started out as a machinist, later becoming an accomplished tool designer and engineer. The respect of his peers and the long-lasting friendships that resulted from his long career were some of the most cherished parts of his life.
Throughout his life, Bennie enjoyed basketball, tennis, jogging, riding his bike, sailing with his brother, Sid, playing his guitar and music. And always, there was Family.

Born in Ogden, Utah on May 30, 1924, he was the second son of Chauncey W. Brewer and Josephine Skeen.
His family moved from Ogden to Salt Lake City when he was four years old. He graduated from East High School in 1941 and attended the University of Utah for two years, where he was a member of the football team.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an aviator. There, he was commissioned as an ensign and trained to fly fighter aircraft, including the carrier-based F6F-Hellcat. Japan surrendered, however, before he could complete his training and be sent into combat.
After the war, he and his brother, Jack, obtained a hard-to-get license to sell products from US Rubber Company and started a business, Royal Tire Center, which had two stores in Salt Lake City and, for a time, one in Provo.
Eventually, Bob bought out Jack's share of the company and ended up running or co-running Royal Tire Center for more than forty years.
Bob loved the outdoors and was fond of fishing and hunting with his family. He particularly loved the family's annual fishing excursion to the Green and Newfork Rivers in Wyoming, accompanied by his sons, his brothers, and all their sons.
He enjoyed playing golf with his friends and spent a great deal of time, especially in his later years, golfing at the Hidden Valley Country Club, where he was a director for a number of years.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack and Tom; and son, Robert. He is survived by his sister, JoAnn Hibbard. Bob and Ruth Noorda have four surviving children, Terry Brent (Judy) Brewer, Corey Chan (Terrie) Brewer, Kelly Scott Brewer, and Sherri Lee (Scott) Cook. He has twenty grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Our House for their loving care and for the kindness shown to the them.
Funeral services will be held at Wasatch Lawn, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East), on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 10:00a.m. There will be a short viewing held prior to the services beginning at 9:00 a.m.

McKean, age 80, passed away at his home in Cedar City, Utah, on September 4, 2002, surrounded by his family. He was born on the Fourth of July, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and appropriately named after Thomas McKean, the signer of the Declaration of Independence from Delaware, and distant relative. Tom later added the middle initial "M" for convenience for military service. Tom was the fourth of five children born to Cornelia Adriana Millecam and Franklin Lane McKean. Tom's parents, brother Franklin Lane, Jr., and sister Edith Coray are deceased. Sisters: Afton Faust and Barbara Smoot survive him. Tom served in the U.S. Army Combat Engineers with the 115th Engineer Battalion, 40th Infantry Division, Utah Army National Guard from 1939 to 1942. During World War II, he commanded an Army Combat Engineer Company for the 867th Engineer Aviation Battalion, 24th Infantry Division in the Pacific Theatre from 1942 to 1946. And, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1951 to 1954 where he organized an Engineer Company for the 401st Combat Engineer Battalion. He personally witnessed the historic return of General MacArthur to the Philippines on 20 October 1944, and the Japanese surrender ceremony from a ship adjacent the USS Missouri in Tokyo Harbor on 2 September 1945. Tom graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Geology in 1950, and soon went to work for Cate Equipment Company where he sold construction, mining and industrial equipment in the mountain West for 33 years. He made innumerable friends from customers and competitors alike throughout his sales career, and was intimately familiar with the geology of the West. Tom married Karyl Ann Ikerd on April 3, 1948 in Salt Lake City, and was divorced in 1973. They had six children: Thomas E. McKean, of Sonoma, California; K. Leslie McKean Gilmore (Douglas), of South Jordan, Utah; Kenneth F. McKean (Maureen), of Hampton, Virginia; Katharine A. McKean Seidel (Win), deceased; Scott T. McKean (LoMae), of Lynnwood, Washington; and, S. Liza McKean Gleason (Rick), of Wellsville, Utah. Tom's posterity includes 17 grandchildren (one deceased), and four great-grandchildren. Tom was actively involved in the scouting program for many years. He loved the outdoors and aviation. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed those times spent with his family and friends in the outdoors. Tom married Ruth A. Wilson on September 8, 1984 in Gunlock, Utah. They were a loving and devoted couple. Tom's children would like to express their deep appreciation to Ruth for her steady and loving care of their Dad during his long illness. The family would especially like to thank Pat, Gail, Melanie, and JoAnn from the Cedar City IHC IV Clinic; Belinda, Jan, and Chaplain Shane from Hospice; and Dr. Alfaro. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City.
