Marriage*30 November 1968 He married Marilyn Martha Knight, daughter of Goodwin Jess Knight and Arvilla Pearl Smuin, on 30 November 1968 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.3
Death*5 June 2006 Allan Hugh Stubbs died on 5 June 2006 at San Diego, San Diego County, California, at age 82.2
oObit*  Allan Hugh Stubbs , Jr., a resident of Rancho Bernardo, California since 1994, passed away on June 5, 2006 after a fifteen year struggle with Parkinson's Disease. He was 82 years old. Born in Kansas City in 1924 to Allan Hugh Stubbs and Genevieve Montgomery Stubbs , Allan attended Paseo High School. Upon graduation, he obtained an appointment to the United States Naval Academy, but had to withdraw due to a previously undiagnosed problem with his eyesight. Thereupon, Allan joined the Naval ROTC and attended the University of Southern California, graduating with a degree in Naval Science. In the last year of World War II, he served in the Pacific Theater as a gunnery officer aboard the battleship USS Alabama. After the war, Allan stayed in the reserves qualifying for submarines and serving as a reserve officer aboard the USS Redfish. While at USC, Allan met Martha Joan ("Marty Jo") Roney. They were married in September 1945 and lived in Los Angeles, where they raised four children. Marty Jo passed away in 1967 after contracting a rare blood disease. Two years later, Allan married Marilyn Knight and continued to live in Los Angeles with his children and Marilyn's daughters April and Heather. In 1987, he was reunited with his high school girl friend, Arliene L. Bryant, and they moved to Prescott, Arizona. Thereafter they moved to Rancho Bernardo, California, where they continued to live until his passing last week. Allan founded Western Concrete Structures Co., Gardena, California, where he pioneered the development and use of post-tensioned prestressed concrete - which transformed the way we now build office buildings, parking structures, and freeway bridges. He remained the company's head until retirement in 1988. In 1976, Allan became the inaugural president of the Post-Tensioning Institute, the industry's association responsible for disseminating information on post-tensioning design and construction technology. Allan was an avid pilot, owning several airplanes, and an amateur astronomer. He is survived by his children John, Kate Cameron, Jim and Bill - and eight grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on June 18th at the USS Midway in San Diego harbor. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the USS Midway Museum, Attn: Allan Stubbs Memorial, 910 N. Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101.
