(Mentioned) oObit7 March 2012 Kevin Thomas Fitzwater was mentioned in the obituary of Beth Thomas on 7 March 2012 at Boise, Ada County, Idaho; Beth Thomas Fitzwater Jan. 31, 1920 - Feb. 21, 2012
Beth Thomas Fitzwater was born in Driggs, Idaho, on January 31, 1920. She died February 21, 2012, in St. George, Utah.
Her parents were Thomas Vernerd Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Heiner. Beth was preceded in death by three sisters, Dale Stout, Venice Thomas and Mae Flake; one brother, Thomas Vernerd Thomas, Jr; and a daughter-in-law, Rae Lynn Fitzwater [Kevin].
Beth was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and throughout her life expressed unending reverence for her ancestors and pride in her Mormon pioneer heritage. She served as secretary to several General Authorities of the LDS Church during the formation of the Church's welfare program.
Beth was educated in the Boise public school system where she was a student leader and excelled academically. After graduating as her high school class valedictorian, she continued her education at the University of Utah, BYU, the University of Washington and Oxford.
Beth married Dale Tull Fitzwater in 1943 [died 1970]. She is survived by two sons, D. Scott Fitzwater [Karlene] of Tigard, Oregon, and Kevin Thomas Fitzwater [Linda] of Colorado Springs, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Rae Pancheri [Oliver], Aryn Mae Fitzwater, Courtney Beth Wonnacott [Michael], Bradach Black Fitzwater [Catherine], Allison Jean McLauchlan [David], Autumn Dale Beardsley [Barrett], Schuyler Thomas Fitzwater; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Active in republican politics, Beth was elected to the Idaho State Legislature in 1974 as a representative of Ada County. She was the first female Chief Clerk of a state legislature in our nation's history. Her involvement in politics resulted in her becoming acquainted with and an advisor to the campaigns of two presidents, three governors and several United States senators and representatives.
Grandma Beth spent 51 summers in McCall, Idaho, where she welcomed children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. Always immaculately groomed and sartorially resplendent, she was a gracious, impeccably-mannered host and steadfast friend — but not a very good golfer.
She was utterly supportive and fiercely loyal to her family. She had a strong, colorful personality and a sharp wit. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
Beth Fitzwater fussed over grammar. If there is an error in this obituary, we will hear about it.5

oObit*12 March 2016  On 12 March 2016 at Ogden, Weber County, Utah. Our mother, Janith Whittemore Creager, age 88, peacefully passed away early Saturday morning March 5, 2016 and had a joyous reunion with her family members who have gone before her. She was the last living family member of her generation.
Jan was born January 27, 1928 in the Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah to Charles R. and Eva Thomas Whittemore. Jan grew up in Ogden, graduating from Ogden High School. As a Depression era child, she learned the value of being self-reliant. In her youth, she and a close friend worked picking fruit and also worked at a cannery. She went on to work at Kress's Department Store. While attending college, she worked at the Fred M. Nye Co. in Ogden on weekends. She graduated from Utah State Agricultural College where she earned a degree in English and was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She then accepted a teaching position at Central Jr. High School in Ogden, Utah.
She later left teaching to raise four successful children, of whom she was very proud. She made sure each had opportunities to learn and grow, including studying music and participation in the 4-H horse and garden programs. When her three sons were young, she became a Cub Scout Den Mother, making sure each of them and many neighborhood boys experienced Scouting at its best. Jan was awarded the Eagle Scout Mother Pin three times. Jan was a merit badge counselor and remained involved with Scouting for many years in leadership positions. In recognition of her dedication to the Scouting program, she was honored with the Silver Beaver Award.
Jan greatly enjoyed working in the library at Bonneville High School during the time her children were students there. Later in life, she went back to school, earning a second bachelor degree in Logistics from Weber State University. She then returned to her teaching career, joining the faculty at the Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College, teaching well into her 70's, retiring in 2002. She found great satisfaction teaching there and made many long lasting friendships with both staff and students.
Jan enjoyed her grandchildren, her dogs, the mountains, camping, and her large garden. She lived in the same home for over 56 years, creating special life-long bonds with her neighbors who became like family.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Margaret Whittemore and Doris Haun; her brother, Frank Whittemore; grandson, Kaden Creager and son-in-law, John Allred.
She is survived by her children: Susan (John deceased) Allred, Salt Lake City, UT; Randolph Creager, Farmington, UT; David (Joanna) Creager, Plain City, UT; and Brian (Joelle) Creager, West Haven, UT; and ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
At Jan's request there will not be a funeral service. A family memorial will be held at a later time.
"I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love." - Leo Buscaglia.3
